Why I Pray the Way I Do
by Sue aka Souptclown

This devotion was written by a dear friend of mine. She was one of the most dedicated prayer warriors I knew of. She went on to be with the Lord in 2007. So sit back and enjoy.

Some people have called me a prayer warrior and some have said that I have no right to go to God and talk to him the way I do.

Yes I do ---

Jesus said: I may go before God and ask confidently (boldly) knowing that God will hear me, that is what I do. If my requests are not in Gods will than I will not receive an answer to them, and I accept that, God knows what is the best for me, and as for praying for others, we are to pray for others, Jesus prayed for us, John 17: 20-26. I claim those words, He can't lie.

Matthew 18:19-20
Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name there am I with them.

Mark 11: 24
There fore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

1 John 5: 14-15
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that he hears us -- whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him.

Matthew 7: 9-11
Which of you if his some asks for bread will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then though you are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him.

So I go to God with ASSURANCE - HUMILITY & BOLDLY cause I am assured He hears me, humbly because He is My God, and boldly cause He said I can.

I am standing on His promise ..
Proverbs 3:5,6 "Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, lean not to your own understanding, but acknowledge Him in all you do and He will direct your path"

God bless you.
