Power Over Demons
And when he was come out of the ship, there
met him out of the tombs, a man with an unclean spirit; who had his dwelling among the
tombs and no man could bind him no not with chains; because that he had been often bound
with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters
broken in pieces, neither could any man tame him... but when he saw Jesus afar off he ran
and worshipped him, and cried with a loud voice and said what have I to do with thee Jesus
thou son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God that thou torment me not. For he said
unto him, Come out of the man thou unclean spirit. Mark 5:2-8
Now here find that this was a man that was long possessed of the devil. He
had been bound by man but could break any chain. This was a powerful devil, We find in the
9th verse his name was Legion because he was many.
However I want to direct your attention to the fact that the devil ran and
worshipped Jesus. He asked to not be tormented, he knew that Jesus was capable of it. The
demon knew who was master.
Jesus did not do a long prayer to cast this demon out all he did was command
it. He didn't have to break the blood ties or bind it seven times seven. All he did was
command it. When we see instances of Paul casting out a devil all he does is command it.
There is no long drawn out process to it. They know that Jesus is the son of God. They
know who the servants of God are. When Sceva tried to cast them out they laughed at him.
They told him Jesus we know and Paul we know but who are you? (Acts 19:15)
If you are not a blood bought, Holy Ghost filled saint I warn you don't mess with the
powers of Satan. He is very real and powerful but we as Holy Ghost filled Christians have
power over the enemy. He doesn't want us to realize that and will bluff and try to scare
you. He is powerful and oftentimes a person will underestimate his doings. But you must
know your enemy. Don't allow him to cast doubt. Remember you as a Holy Ghost filled
Christian have power over him. He can only do what you allow him to do.
Be a strong warrior but know your enemy. Battles can't be won if you don't
know the enemy and have the power to overcome him. Make sure you have your armor on and
sword in hand and you will have the victory.
Have a blessed day.
