From a Child's Eyes

Poetry written by children, to show how the world looks from their eyes.

The Fishbowl

You live in a fishbowl
The world always watching
you have no life of your own
When will it all end?
Is there hope of being
whatever that you want to be?
Or must you always live
As others expect you to be

My Innocence
Today I lost my innocence.
It wasn't planned.
I never intended it to happen.
But it did.
I swore I would never let it happen to me
but then I did.
I thought I was stronger but I found out I wasn't.
God please forgive me
I didn't mean for it to happen.
I tried to fight
but it did no good.
Please forgive me.
I'm sorry I let you down.

Why?
Mommy, why don't you smile?
Did I make you unhappy again?
I try to please you but I can't.

Mommy, don't you love me?
You never listen to me.
I guess I'm not important.

Mommy, why do you cry?
I'm sorry I hurt you.
I will try to do better.

Mommy, why are you lonely?
I am here with you.
I guess you don't want to be with me.

Mommy I love you.
Even when you reject me,
You're still my mommy.

The Sun Doesn't Shine
The sun doesn't shine at my house
Its always gloomy and dark.
There's never a ray of happiness.
Its not a walk in the park.

The sun doesn't shine at my house.
There's only fear and shame.
No happiness to be found anywhere
No one knows my name.

The sun doesn't shine at my house.
The anger shows right through.
Afraid to speak or say a word,
Still the bruises do.

The sun doesn't shine at my house,
No one must ever know.
For if they found out the sun doesn't shine,
Death would be where I would go.

JOHN 3:16
by:Amanda Scott

SOMETIMES WE HEAR OF SUCH THINGS AS
JOHN 3:16
FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD
THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON
THAT WHOSOEVER
BELIEVETH IN HIM
SHOULD NOT PERISH
BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE

AND WE THINK OF SIMPLE THINGS
SUCH AS NO PAIN
THAT HE SUFFERED FOR OTHERS HE DIDNT EVEN SEE
HE SHED HIS BLOOD ON CALVERY
THAT LONG AND TOURCHURING DAY
FOR BABIES AND PEPLE
THATS NOT HEAR TODAY
HE HELPS US IN SO MANY WAYS
WE CANT DESCRIBE
WE CANT SAY
SO WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY IS
DONT WAIT TO LATE
FOR HES COMING ANY DAY

Crucifiction Day
by Amanda Scott

ONE DAY I WAS PRAYING
BY A BIG GREY ROCK
AS JESUS TOOK ME BY THE HAND
AND SAID " DONT BE SCARED MY FRIEND."

HE SHOWED ME WHAT HAD HAPPENED
THAT CRUCIFICTION DAY
HOW HE STAYED ON THE CROSS
FOR OUR LIVES TODAY

I ASKED HIM MANY QUESTIONS
HE SHOWED MY MANY THINGS
AND HE TOOK ME BACK TO THAT BIG ROCK
WHERE I STARTED PRAYING THAT DAY

I BEGGED HIM NOT TO LEAVE
TO STAY AND HELP ME ON MY WAY
HE SAID "I HAVE NEVER LEFT YOU"
"I WAS ALWAYS HOLDING YOUR HAND
EVERY STEP OF THE WAY."
